As a mother of three grown children, Sally recognizes the importance of supporting mothers (and that's ALL mothers) as they navigate the rewarding, yet sometimes frustrating, journey called Motherhood. Her goal as a lactation consultant is to support moms with not just knowledge and assistance with breastfeeding, but to do so with compassion, in a non-judgmental manner. She graduated from college with a Public Relations degree, actually, and
worked in that field for a few years before having children. After the birth of her second child, she decided to go back to school to become a nurse. She has been helping breastfeeding mothers in the Augusta area since 2004. In 2008 she obtained her certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. In 2015, she led a team of nurses at Doctors Hospital in becoming the area, only Baby-Friendly Hospital. She is a past chairperson of the CSRA Breastfeeding Coalition where she is still an active member. Sally has spoken at the Georgia Perinatal Association annual conference and, most recently, was featured in Augusta Medical Professionals magazine. In 2018 she started her private practice, Sally Wood Lactation. She offers in-home lactation consultations, hospital-grade breast pump rentals and classes. Sally knows that every mother is different, with varying goals and unique
challenges. Supporting, encouraging and EMPOWERING these mothers is Sally's passion.

ICAN of the CSRA is a chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).

Destini Wainer is the owner of Parental Evolution Coaching, LLC. She earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Augusta University (2014) and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia (2015). While being a social worker was both challenging and rewarding, no role has been more transformative than becoming a mother to twin boys in 2019.

Destini’s path to parenthood was unexpected, and she quickly realized how deeply her own childhood experiences influenced her ability to parent in the way she desired. Determined to break generational patterns and parent in alignment with her values, she enrolled to be trained through the Jai Institute for Parenting. There, she embarked on a profound journey of healing and intentional growth, learning new ways of being with her children.

Experiencing powerful shifts in her own life ignited Destini’s passion and calling to support other parents. Through her work, she helps parents evolve into the most grounded, connected, and authentic versions of themselves.
